Real-Time Completions Intelligence for the Eagle Ford

Fracture Geometry. Infill Interaction. Depletion Response.

Get a clearer picture of every stage. Real-time completions intelligence shows how Eagle Ford rock responds while the treatment is underway, so your team can apply what it learns to the next stage, well or pad.

  • Investigate responses associated with faults and out-of-zone growth, with project-specific areas of concern and alert criteria.
  • Measure fracture height, lateral extent, azimuth and event distribution to evaluate whether the observed response remains within the intended Eagle Ford or Austin Chalk interval or extends toward faults, adjacent targets or nonproductive rock.
  • Track the stimulation response relative to producing parent wells, new infill wells, and adjacent laterals.
  • Integrate microseismic observations with offset-well pressure and treatment data to investigate fracture-driven interactions and offset-well exposure.
  • Evaluate how parent-well depletion and changes in the local stress field influence fracture direction, asymmetry, and stage-to-stage behavior.
  • Apply the results to future decisions involving well spacing, treatment order, stage sequencing, and completion design.

Stages Monitored

MicroSeismic brings extensive completions-monitoring experience to the Eagle Ford. Across 182 projects, our teams have monitored 593 wells and 14,669 hydraulic-fracturing stages, building substantial field experience interpreting fracture geometry, containment, stress behavior, and well-to-well interaction across South Texas developments.

In this mature play, infill wells are often completed near producing or depleted parent wells. Our experience supports monitoring programs focused on parent–child well interactions, fracture-driven interactions, offset-well exposure, depletion-related stress changes, treatment order, well spacing, and stage sequencing.

We turn measured reservoir response into practical completions intelligence for the next stage, well, or pad.

Eagle Ford Completions Intelligence

Is the Response Staying Where You Intended?

A completion design starts with an expectation. Monitoring adds evidence. In Eagle Ford developments, focus the measurement on containment, fracture extent and potential interaction with offset wells.

Evaluate the measured response alongside treatment, pressure, geology and production data to inform the next engineering decision.

01

Containment

How does the observed vertical response compare with the intended landing interval?

02

Offset-Well Exposure

Does event development approach neighboring wells or a defined area of concern?

03

Stage Consistency

Which stages depart from the expected pattern, and what changed in the treatment?

Four Questions for Completion Decisions

For Eagle Ford projects, connect these four questions to the decisions your completions team needs to make. Interpret each diagnostic in the context of the treatment and local geology.

01

Uniformity Index

How uniformly is stimulation distributed along the treated interval?

Use Uniformity Index analysis, interpreted alongside treatment and pressure data, to assess uneven stimulation response within Eagle Ford stages.

Completion decision: Evaluate cluster spacing, perforation strategy and treatment distribution.

02

Fracture-Driven Interactions

Is fracture growth increasing exposure for nearby wells?

Track the observed response relative to offset wells and compare it with offset pressure observations to investigate potential communication.

Completion decision: Review stage sequencing, well spacing and operator-defined offset-well response protocols.

03

Frac Completions

Is the completion creating the intended reservoir response?

Compare observed fracture height, lateral extent and orientation with the target interval and planned treatment in the Eagle Ford.

Completion decision: Evaluate fluid volumes, pump rates, proppant schedules and stage design using integrated diagnostics.

04

Screenouts

Are pressure and subsurface changes signaling a need to reassess the treatment?

Evaluate treating-pressure trends and pumping data alongside changes in microseismic response when investigating potential screenout risk.

Completion decision: Review rate and proppant decisions under the operator’s engineering protocols. Microseismic observations alone do not establish or predict a screenout.

A Monitoring Plan Designed Around Your Decision

Every development has different geometry, objectives and constraints. MicroSeismic designs the monitoring program around the decision your team needs to make, not around a one-size-fits-all acquisition method.

01

Define

Start with the spacing, sequencing or containment question your team needs to resolve.

02

Measure

Evaluate surface or buried-array options around the project geometry and objectives.

03

Interpret

Connect the observed response with operational context and carry the learning forward to the next stage, well or pad.
