September 15, 2011 – MicroSeismic Inc. and NSI Technologies, LLC (NSI) announced today that they are collaborating on an engineering and geoscience solution that will allow operators to incorporate microseismic data acquired through MicroSeismic’s proprietary process with NSI’s fracture design and analysis solutions for enhanced fracture modeling. This solution will enable oil and gas companies to integrate their completions engineering, production modeling and microseismic monitoring data in order to optimize their completions programs to ultimately de-risk the prospects and significantly enhance recovery.
“Through this partnership, we are creating an advanced engineering solution tailored to operators’ needs, one that will help them enhance their production and recovery on a well-by-well, multi-well and life-of-field basis,” said Peter Duncan, CEO and founder of MicroSeismic, Inc.
“We believe this cooperation will provide our customers with a better understanding of the hydraulic fracturing process to optimize their well performance in unconventional resources,” said Michael B. Smith, CTO and co-founder of NSI Technologies, LLC.
Under this collaboration, MicroSeismic’s unique data acquisition and imaging capabilities and NSI’s software and engineering expertise will be used to develop specific software and workflows that integrate directly into NSI’s StimPlan software delivering to customers both tools and services to better manage their frac programs.
