LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – November 5, 2012: MicroSeismic, Inc. (MicroSeismic) recently announced its next generation of services. This included an upgrade to the patented Passive Seismic Emission Tomography (PSET®) technology to PSET® 4.0 which is now available for all customers. With these new advancements, MicroSeismic continues to make gains in z-direction accuracy to provide the most complete three dimensional image of the reservoir’s response to stimulation. In addition to superior image processing capabilities, this upgrade allows customers to understand fracture effectiveness through better incorporation of anisotropy, finer calibration and easier access to their information.
There are three new services with PSET® 4.0.
- PSET® VTI (Vertical Transverse Isotropy) has an interactive calibration tool to estimate anisotropic velocity models, which will provide a more accurate representation of the velocity in the earth. This will provide a clearer more precise image of microseismic event locations.
- PSET® Alert enhances real-time capabilities to automatically trigger alerts based on customer defined criteria. The new feature allows MicroSeismic to provide real-time notification of positive magnitude seismic events in monitoring areas.
- PSET® Viewer allows customers to rapidly view their microseismic results in a 3D Viewer on their computer or tablet. This online persistent catalog of microseismic results will give customers a rapid view of projects by basin, play or other selected criteria. The portal allows customers to have unique logins for each user and view projects to which they have permissions, as well as, the ability to visualize and manipulate the microseismic point sets in an interactive web environment.
MicroSeismic will demonstrate its next generation of PSET® technology at the SEG Conference in Las Vegas on November 5 at 11:00 a.m. in Booth #1022.
