Heloise Lynn has worked the last 40 years as a consultant in azimuthal anisotropy, and multicomponent seismic, for oil and gas exploration and development. Prior to consulting, she worked for BP, Amoco, and Texaco. Her Ph.D. in Geophysics is from Stanford University, where she studied under Prof. Jon Claerbout and Prof. George Thompson. In 2015, the SEG awarded her the Fessenden Award, for her 35 year career of translating the anisotropic behavior of seismic waves into practical applications that allow stress fields, fracture systems, and geomechanical properties to be characterized in targeted rock systems.
