MICROSEISMIC JOB OPPORTUNITIES

Careers

Interested in MicroSeismic job opportunities or oil and gas careers? MicroSeismic, Inc. (MSI) is a geophysical services company that provides real-time monitoring and mapping of hydraulic fracture operations for the development of unconventional oil and gas plays. MSI is the pioneer in near-surface monitoring of microseismic activity.

MSI's BuriedArray acquisition uses geophones placed near the ground's surface to listen to the rock breaking during hydraulic fracturing. Data gathered by these geophones is transmitted to a processing center where geophysicists can analyze the information and show oil and gas operators, in real-time, exactly where their fractures are going. This information is used by operators to increase production and recovery at a much lower cost than traditional monitoring methods. MSI is the only company with experience monitoring microseismic at or near the surface in real-time.

In the last year, MSI has tripled its growth along with the demand for its services. We are actively recruiting for the following positions:

Senior Structural Geologist

Duties & Responsibilities

The Sr. Structural Geologist manages the geologist team members who work with the geophysicists to provide an integrated geosciences-based analysis of micro-earthquake data collected from passive seismic monitoring of reservoir stimulation and production related seismicity. The main goal of the geologic analysis is to provide a geologic context in which to interpret microseismic event locations, including deformation history, fracture orientations, fault interactions, failure mechanisms, in-situ stress, and rock mechanical behavior. As the geology team leader, the Sr. Structural Geologist is responsible for ensuring that geological contributions to analysis projects are geologically defensible and consistent with the geophysical content of the project provided by the analyst. He/she will perform QC reviews of the geologic context, fracture interpretations, and DFN models generated by members of the geology team, will oversee training and development goals of individual geology team members, work with the Geologist Advisor to implement new workflows into geologic analyses, and work with the Data Analysis Manager to assign geologic analysis projects to make sure all are completed and integrated into the final reports in a timely manner.
