    Peter M. Duncan is President and CEO of MicroSeismic, Inc. a Houston based geophysical service company. He holds a Ph.D. in Geophysics from the University of Toronto. He began his career as an exploration geophysicist with Shell Canada before joining Digicon Geophysical, first in Calgary then in Houston. In 1987 he helped Digicon found ExploiTech Inc, an exploration and production consultancy. He was named President of ExploiTech when it became a subsidiary of Landmark Graphics in 1989. In 1992 he was one of 3 founders of 3DX Technologies Inc., an independent oil and gas exploration company where he served as Vice President and Chief Geophysicist. Duncan was 2003-04 President of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG). Duncan was the Fall 2008 SEG/AAPG Distinguished Lecturer speaking on the subject of passive seismic at 45 venues around the world. He is an Honorary Member of SEG, the Canadian Society of Exploration Geophysicists (CSEG), the Geophysical Society of Houston (GSH) and the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE). He received the Enterprise Champion Award from the Houston Business Journal in 2010 and the World Oil Innovative Thinker Award in 2011.

    Ron Mogel has more than 35 years of accounting and managerial experience in the manufacturing, service and construction industries; in multi-company, multidivisional and international environments in the energy service sector. Prior to joining MicroSeismic, Inc., Ron served as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Omni Energy Services, Corp. in Lafayette, LA.

    Ron holds an M.B.A. from the University of St. Thomas, is a graduate of the Loyola University School of Law and a member of the Louisiana State Bar. His undergraduate degree is from the University of New Orleans and he is a licensed C.P.A. in the State of Louisiana. He is a member of the Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants, American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Louisiana State Bar Association and American Bar Association.

    Terry Jbeili has more than 30 years of experience working in the service sector of petroleum exploration and development including 15 years working abroad in international operations and the past 15 years focused on strategic business development and structuring as well as technology development and commercialization. Terry has extensive experience in establishing, growing and managing operations from field to regional and executive level, as well as managing technology development and commercialization for large and small organizations.

    One of his recent successes was Nexus Geosciences Inc. Terry helped grow the company’s business and global project footprint from being non‐existent to Gulf of Mexico centric and on to basins around the world including West Africa, North West Australia, Latin America and Asia. As Executive Vice President, he was responsible for all aspects of the business set‐up, growth and exit strategy. This ultimately resulted in Schlumberger’s purchase of Nexus in March 2010. Prior to joining MicroSeismic Terry served as a Business Manager for Schlumberger in Houston, Texas.

    Terry has worked and lived in many oil and gas regions, including North and South America, Europe, the Middle East, North Africa and the Former Soviet Union. He spent his undergraduate years at Imperial College, London where he received a BSc Honors in Electronic Engineering. He is a member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists and the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

  • Michael Thornton, Ph.D +

    Michael Thornton, Ph.D. has 23 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He spent nearly four years as VP of Data Analysis for MicroSeismic Inc. prior to being promoted to Chief Technology Officer in January 2011. Before joining MicroSeismic Inc. he spent six years in management at Veritas DGC as Imaging Director in charge of multiple processing crews and technology development. He began his career with ExxonMobil where he served as a research geophysicist, processing geophysicist and processing analyst.

    Thornton has his MS and BS in geophysics from Texas A&M University and obtained his PhD in geophysics from the University of Houston. He is an active member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists.

    Indy Chakrabarti has more than 14 years of experience in product strategy, corporate marketing and business development. He began his career in 1998 and has worked for leading software and oil and gas companies. Prior to joining MicroSeismic Inc. he was Chief Marketing Officer at Seismic Micro- Technology (SMT). With SMT’s acquisition by IHS he transitioned to oversight of product marketing and sales enablement for the $500 million energy technical business unit.

    Indy earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rice University in Houston, Texas and a Master’s Degree in Engineering Logistics from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engneers, Society of Explorations Geophysicists and American Association of Petroleum Geologists.

    Greg Burns has more than 16 years of experience in international oilfield operations. The majority of his career was spent with Schlumberger, where he began as a Field Engineer. His career spanned roles in operations, marketing, sales and human resources. Including an assignment as Personnel Manager for Central Asia, based in Kazakhstan. Prior to joining MicroSeismic, he was Human Resources Director for Cooper Industries in Peachtree City, Ga.

    Greg has a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Alabama and a Masters of Business Administration from The Rotterdam School of Management.

  • Jeff Bruce +

    Jeff Bruce

    General Manager, Northeast Region | jbruce@microseismic.com

    Jeff Bruce has more than 30 years of experience in the global petroleum industry with expertise in frontier exploration through field appraisal and development. He began his career with Conoco in 1980 as a senior geologist and advanced to VP of Exploration for ConocoPhillips in Indonesia and China. In these leadership roles, he was responsible for managing sizeable capital and operating budgets with large and diverse staffs, leading government and regulatory negotiations and was a key decision maker on all exploration activities.

    Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania. He is a Certified Petroleum Geologist and a member of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists (AAPG), Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He also served as the Asia Pacific representative within the AAPG House of Delegates from 2008-2011 and has authored numerous technical papers.

    Randy Evans has more than 32 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He began his career with Dresser Atlas as a Field Engineer and has held roles in operations, marketing, sales and general management. Prior to joining MicroSeismic he was Business Development Manager for Baker Hughes’ African operations.

    Randy has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology from Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. He holds 10 patents in the completions technology field and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Society of Exploration Geophysicists and Society of Professional Well Log Analysts.

    Mike Mueller

    Mike Mueller has over 30 years of experience in geoscience technology research, development and management. He began his career with Amoco’s Houston Region office in 1981 and worked numerous technology and asset team assignments worldwide for Amoco and BP. In technology development he specialized in multicomponent seismic and sonic technologies. In management, in addition to line leadership responsibilities, he led a McKinsey and Company study on technology strategy and governance helping to develop and execute the strategic plan for unconventional gas as Technology Manager for BP.

    Mike has authored numerous papers and abstracts in the area of seismic technology, two of which have been recognized by SEG editors for their fundamental contributions to the understanding and application of seismic anisotropy in the oil and gas industry. He has a B.S. in geophysics from Binghamton University and a M.S. in applied mathematics from the University of Houston.

    Ganesh has more than 20 years of experience. The majority of his career was spent with IHS after they acquired his startup company, AccuMap. His career has spanned roles in operations, software technology, business development, product development and financial management. Prior to joining MicroSeismic, he was President and Chief Operating Officer for Tagle Information Technology, Inc.

    Ganesh holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) in Computing Science from the University of Alberta, a Master of Science in Computing Science from Dalhousie University and a Masters in Business Administration from Athabasca University.

    Mark Murphy

    Mark Murphy has more than 19 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. He began his career as a Seismic Processor and Field Engineer in Australia. His experience spans seismic data acquisition, business and operational management, processing, IT and software development and technical geophysical development. Prior to joining MicroSeismic, Inc. he was Production Manager for US Imaging at CGG Veritas.

    Mark has a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physics from University of Central Queensland and a Post Graduate Diploma in Geophysics from University of Queensland in Australia.

  • Christopher Neale +

    Chris-Neale

    Christopher Neale has 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry. In his role with MicroSeismic Inc., he is responsible for the adoption of the company’s new technologies into the market. Neale spent 18 years with Texaco working and living in Saudi Arabia, China, Scotland, Indonesia and Australia, initially as a reservoir engineer, and subsequently moving into engineering and operations management. Prior to joining MicroSeismic, Inc. in May 2003, he spent time as the Director of Energy Business Development for the Houston Technology Center and as Director of Business Development for Cogos Software, Inc.

    Neale has an undergraduate degree in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University and an MBA from Rice University. He is a past Chairman of the Saudi Arabia Section of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.

    Gary North is a leader whose 32 years of career experience exhibits progressive P&L responsibilities. He has experience leading remote operations, sales and marketing, training and development, merger and acquisition, post-merger personnel integration, human resources, operations, and risk management. The last 17 years include senior level executive leadership, entrepreneurial start-ups, small local ownership companies and a large cap public entity. His career spans specialties in Oil and Gas, Staffing and Recruiting, Electrical Utility and Safety and Risk Management.

    Gary has a Bachelor of Administration with a minor in chemistry. He is an active member of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists, Society of Petroleum Engineers and Rotary International.

  • Robert (Bob) Daniels +

    Board Position: Director

    bob-danielsMr. Daniels joined Anadarko in 1985 and assumed his current position in July 2012. Previously, he served as Senior Vice President, Worldwide Exploration, beginning in December 2006 and Senior Vice President, Exploration and Production beginning May 2004. Prior to that, he served as Vice President, Canada beginning July 2001. Mr. Daniels has also held key positions within Anadarko's exploration group, including Geologic Supervisor for Algeria, Manager of Geology for Algeria Exploration, Project Manager of the Ourhoud Development Project in Algeria, and Manager of U.S. Onshore Exploration.

    Mr. Daniels holds a Master of Science degree in petroleum geology from the Colorado School of Mines and a bachelor's degree in economics from The Colorado College. He also is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Advanced Management Program.

    Mr. Daniels serves on the Board of Directors of the Cerebral Palsy Research Foundation and Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas. He is a Trustee of the American Geological Institute Foundation.

    Board Position: Observer

    sean-ebertSean Ebert is Principal with Altira Group, LLC, which is focused on cross-sector energy technology investments. Prior to Altira, Ebert was a Principal in Booz Allen’s energy practice, where he advised energy companies and private equity firms on a broad set of ‘frontier energy’ strategic issues including portfolio strategy, technology, new business model development and capital investment decisions. Prior to Booz Allen, he was the CEO of the energy technology related start-up company, Foresight Weather. Ebert is currently a member of the Board of Directors for three Altira portfolio companies - Austin Geomodeling, TransZap, and Syntex Solutions. Current Board of Director memberships: TransZap, AGM, and Syntex. BS, Civil Engineering and M.B.A. from the University of Texas.

    hythem-elnazerMr. Hythem T. El-Nazer serves as a Director at TA Associates Management, L.P. Mr. El-Nazer focuses on investments in recapitalizations, management-led buyouts; technology, communications, and energy services. He previously served as a Senior Vice President at the firm since January 1, 2009 and also served as its Principal. Mr. El-Nazer joined the firm in 2004 as an Associate. Mr. El-Nazer served at McKinsey & Company as a Junior Associate and at Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette, Investment Banking Group as a Technology Investment Banking Analyst. He serves as a Director of TEOCO Corporation, Answers Corporation, Radialpoint Inc., eSecLending LLC, MicroSeismic Inc and Weather Investments Group. Mr. El-Nazer serves as a Board Observer at Orascom Telecom Holding S.A.E., and Weather Investments S.p.A. He is a former Board Observer at WIND TELECOM S.p.A and was a Director of Aicent. He obtained an M.B.A. from Columbia Business School in 2008 and a B.A. in Economics and Organizational Behavior and Management from Brown University in 2000. Mr. El-Nazer received a General Course degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in 1999.

    Board Position: Director

    msi-avatarSteve Finley currently serves on the Board of Exterran GP LLC and Newpark Resources, Inc. and has previously served on the boards of Total Safety U.S. Inc. and Ocean Rig ASA. He brings 24 years of experience from Baker Hughes, rising to become the Senior Vice President, Finance & Administration and Chief Financial Officer from 1999 to 2006. Previously he held positions in audit and accounting at Navistar, Pricewaterhouse Coopers, and Arthur Andersen & Co.

    Steve holds a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Indiana State University. He is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors.

  • Daniel Hullah +

    Board Position: Observer

    daniel-hullahDaniel was born and educated in the UK where he received a BA and a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Oxford. He came to the United States in 1999 as a postdoctoral research associate at the University of Chicago. Following his stint in Chicago, Daniel left academia but stayed in the States as he branched out into a career in management consulting at ZS Associates – a firm that focuses exclusively on sales and marketing. Daniel moved to Boston in 2001 to start a new ZS office, and went on to pursue an MBA at INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France. Shortly after returning to the States from INSEAD, Daniel joined RockPort in Boston. Since then he has been an active member of the screening and diligence team and has worked on multiple transactions in several key cleantech sectors most notably solar energy and green buildings. He has represented RockPort on investor panels at conferences throughout the country.

    kurt-jaggersMr. Kurt R. Jaggers is a Managing Director at TA Associates Management, L.P. since January 1997. He has been employed at the firm since August 1990 and co-heads the Menlo Park office Technology and Services Groups. Mr. Jaggers focuses on technology, Internet, communications, and software investments. He was a Principal of WebSideStory Inc. from January 1993 to December 1996 and Vice President from 1990 to 1992 and Director of Carrier Marketing at Network Equipment Technologies. Previously, Mr. Jaggers served as an Engineering Manager at ROLM Corporation and Business Computer Corporation. He was a Consultant at Boston Consulting Group. Mr. Jaggers has been Director of Websidestory, Inc.'s, since December 1999. He serves as a Director of 2nd Story Software; Global 360; Aicent; MicroSeismic, Inc.; and RGM Advisors since January 28, 2008. Mr. Jaggers was a Director of International Microcircuits Inc.'s since December 1997; Life Technologies (formerly Invitrogen); JDA Software Group; Director of Kintana Inc. since June 1999; Microtest Inc.; Network Appliance Inc.; Q UP Systems Inc.; TogetherSoft Corp.; OpenLink Financial; Voyant Technologies Inc; WebSideStory; PROS Holdings and Trident Microsystems Inc.   • Wilber James +

    Board Position: Director

    wilber-jamesWilber has been an energy entrepreneur for over three decades. He pioneered the unregulated marketing and trading of crude oil and petroleum products, natural gas, and electricity as Chairman and CEO of Citizens Corporation, an unaffiliated, independent energy company. Building on that success, he expanded into oil exploration and energy conservation. He created Citizens Lehman Power, a joint venture between Lehman Brothers and Citizens that was the nation’s first electricity trading and asset acquisition/restructuring company, and then successfully sold it to The Energy Group PLC. Prior to co-founding RockPort, Wilber was Non-Executive Chairman of Citizens Power and a member of the Executive Committee of Peabody Energy, and was instrumental in the LBO of Peabody and Citizens from The Energy Group in 1998. Wilber is a graduate of Colorado College with a BA in History.

  • Dirk McDermott +

    Board Position: Director

    dirk-mcdermott-Dirk McDermott is the founder and Managing Director of Altira Group LLC, an energy investment firm based in Denver Colorado. Dirk raised capital to launch Altira’s inaugural fund and has expanded Altira to one of the leading energy investment firms in the world. Building upon the business relationships he has developed throughout his career, he is responsible for developing new deal sources and helping shape Altira's strategy. His 25 years' of experience as an investor, manager, and scientist in the energy industry are among the keys to Altira's success. His working knowledge in the technologies of the oil, gas, and renewable energy industry is invaluable and sets Altira apart. Dirk has a superb practical working knowledge of the energy industry and is a pioneer in successfully applying investment into energy technology.

    Dirk has served or currently serves on the boards of directors for several Altira portfolio companies: Beyond Compliance, Canyon Offshore, Coherence Technology Company, DeepFlex, Microseismic, NuTech Energy Alliance, RC Squared, TransZap, and Tubel Technologies. In addition, Dirk is on the Board of Directors of RPSEA, the Treasurer and Chair on the Board of Trustees of the Finance Committee of Graland Country Day School, and serves as the "Roustabout" and Chair of the Alternative Investment Committee of the Petroleum Investment Committee at Stanford University.

    Dirk began his career with Louisiana Land and Exploration Company (LL&E) as a geophysicist working on exploration and production projects around the world. During his twelve year tenure he held a variety of positions including Chief Geophysicist of LL&E's Canadian subsidiary. After obtaining his MBA from Stanford University in 1991, Dirk turned his career towards venture investing in energy and energy technologies. In 1993, he co-founded Aspect Management, a Denver venture capital firm that managed the oil and gas portfolio of General Atlantic Partners and also invested in early stage oil and gas technology enterprises that were leaders in the application of 3D technology. During this period, he was instrumental in founding, funding, and managing oil and gas companies and technology companies, including General Atlantic Resources, Brigham Oil and Gas, Southtech Exploration, Geographix, and Coherence Technology Company. In addition to his MBA, Dirk holds a Master’s of Science in Geophysics from Stanford University.

  • Jamie McJunkin +

    Board Position: Observer

    Jamie McJunkin

    Jamie McJunkin has served on our board of directors since April 2009. Since April 2005, Mr. McJunkin has been a Managing Member of Madrone Capital Partners, a venture capital firm. From August 2000 to March 2005, Mr. McJunkin was a technology growth capital investor at TA Associates, Inc., a private equity firm. Prior to August 2000, Mr. McJunkin worked as a Product Manager at Cisco Systems, Inc. and as a strategy consultant at the Boston Consulting Group. Mr. McJunkin is a director of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum and several privately-held companies. He also serves on the Advisory Board for Rockport Capital Partners and The Global Environment Fund. Mr. McJunkin earned a bachelor of arts degree with high honors from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University and a master of business administration degree from the Stanford University Graduate School of Business. Mr. McJunkin has valuable experience as an investor in building emerging growth companies. His investing and business background, as well as his knowledge of the solar industry, provide a valuable perspective for our board of directors.

     

  • Don Riley +

    Board Position: Observer

    don-rileyDon Riley has more than 37 years of experience with Chevron. Early in his career, he led research efforts in advanced 3-D seismic processing and supercomputing technology at the company's La Habra, California, research laboratory. In 1999, Riley co-founded Chevron's first venture investment group, Chevron Technology Ventures, which developed a portfolio of investments in information technology, material science and biotechnology startups. Prior to that, Riley was chief geophysicist for Chevron U.S.A. and Chevron Canada, where he was also general manager for human resources. He is currently a board observer for Arisdyne Systems, Ember Corporation, Ensyn, Foro Energy, Konarka, LS9, Microfabrica, MicroSeismic Inc., PanGeo Subsea, Sub-One Technology, Ziebel and ZiLift.

    Riley received doctorate and master's degrees from Stanford University in geophysics and also holds a Bachelor of Science in geophysics from the University of Tulsa.
